The Monmouth Fire Department serves Monmouth, ME and provides mutual aid to the surrounding communities. We operate out of two stations with a fleet of five trucks. We are a volunteer department and are always looking for new members.

Now that spring is upon us it's time to get outdoors. Fire is often a part of these outdoor activities but be aware of your current fire danger conditions. A single ember can start a brush fire if the conditions are right. - Check you local laws on camp fires and burning permits
- Always get a permit when required!
- Make sure you have the necessary water & tools available to extinguish.
- Don't hesitate to call 911 if the fire gets out of control.
- Check the local fire conditions before having any outdoor fire.

We are looking for new members and you can join. If you live in the town of Monmouth and are at least 18 years old, you can apply to be a volunteer fire fighter. If you are not yet 18, but attend Monmouth Academy you can join the Fire Explorers program which is organized by the fire department and school. For more information call: 207-933-2206 or stop by the fire station on a Thursday night. |
